Future Careers

We will continue to train engineers with a wide range of specialized basic academic skills in civil engineering as well as problem-solving ability in various areas such as environmental issues, disaster prevention, and welfare. They are expected to find work in a wide range of fields, specifically, characteristics of geology, soil, etc., construction materials such as concrete and asphalt, development of safe and functional design techniques, maintenance and management of social infrastructure, improvement of water and sewage facilities, water circulation and air quality, waste disposal and recycling, clarification of the mechanisms of natural disasters, disaster mitigation and prevention measures, earthquake-resistant design of structures, improvement of the urban environment and living conditions of the elderly and people with disabilities, health and housing, and so on.

National examinations and qualification tests that may be taken by graduates
  • Assistant Surveyor
  • Surveyor (work experience required)
  • The Second-Class Civil Engineering Works Execution Managing Engineer (exam qualification: work experience required)
  • The First-Class Civil Engineering Works Execution Managing Engineer (exam qualification: work experience required)
  • Explosives Handling Safety Administrator (some examinations exempted)
  • Associate Professional Engineer
  • Professional Engineer (exam qualification: work experience required)
Teaching licenses that may be acquired by graduates
  • High School Teacher License, First Grade (Science, Industrial Arts)

Expected fields of employment

Graduates are expected to find work in government and municipal offices, construction companies, construction consultancies, transport companies, power companies, environmental consultancies, welfare and medicine, home builders, etc.
