Civil and Environmental Engineering

We foster expert engineers who can establish safe and secure infrastructure.

We are now facing problems with a falling birthrate and aging population, globalization and the localization of environmental problems, and frequently-occurring large-scale natural disasters. Under these circumstances, how to establish and maintain a safe and secure infrastructure as well as a high-quality natural or urban environment is becoming increasingly important in construction engineering.
To solve these problems, we need expert engineers who have specialized knowledge in construction, environment, disaster prevention, and welfare, and the abilities to integrate further specialized knowledge and to respond to problems comprehensively and flexibly.
The program provides specialized knowledge through classroom lectures and seminars, face-to-face instruction by teaching staff so that students can learn the skills essential for finding research themes, planning research projects, choosing research methods, and preparing technical papers. Through these processes, we foster expert engineers and researchers who can establish a safe and secure infrastructure.
