Research into woody biomass in order to make use of rich forest resources

Iwate, one of Japan’s most heavily-forested prefectures, is actively promoting the utilization of woody biomass. Related to this, we are studying the combustion (flame) of solid fuel with a view to contributing to the region.

In the robotics and controls department, through collaboration with a wide range of fields such as artificial intelligence and cognition, we are conducting research with the aim of giving intelligent machines, typically robots, high intelligence and cognition, enabling them to carry on dialogues with people.
