Message from the Dean

As a Faculty Engineering student at Iwate University, you have an opportunity to hold a key to the future where you can operate the engines of knowledge | Professor Kenichi Funazaki,
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Iwate University

Iwate University Faculty of Engineering has two unique "engines of knowledge", "Monozukuri" Engineering (Advanced Manufacturing) and Soft-Path Engineering.

As for the latter, reflecting on our past society in which we pursued mass production and vast consumption of natural resources while we eventually have caused several environmental problems, the educational policy of this department is to create "a new engineering style". aiming for a safe, secure and sustainable society.

These two engines of knowledge have great power and potential to support our society in the future. We are proud of our research and educational ability and we hope that you will become an engineer specialist and learn to operate these "engines of knowledge".
