Summary The objective of my research is to develop a three-dimensional TV that can be viewed without wearing special glasses and without fatigue. Holography, a technology that uses the properties of light waves, has been around for some time, but the volume of computer calculation is too huge, which makes it unrealistic to apply the technology. I have therefore established a method where the calculation is divided into two parts: one where the calculation is simple but the calculation volume is large and the other where the calculation is complex but the volume is not large. The first calculation is performed by light and the second by a computer. We have assembled a laser light source device which we use to conduct experiments in recording and reproducing 3-D images.
