Summary I am researching high performance, high efficiency and high reliability aircraft engines using wind tunnel experiments and large-scale computer simulations. One of the most important objectives in my research is how to manufacture aircraft engines that ensure safe flight using “Japanese technology.” Since the technology used to manufacture aircraft engines can also be applied, without any modification, to the development of steam turbines and gas turbines for electric power plants, my research is also aiming at improving their performance. In addition, I am researching lesions associated with in vivo fluid-flow phenomena, particularly associated with blood flow and vascular disease. Besides, development of new telescopes landed on the Moon is under way in my laboratory.
