Summary The highest priority on developing technologies has been smaller, lighter and faster. However, people are now seeking gently and friendly engineering to human to develop a sustainable life and environment to address nowadays concerns over the social and natural environment, the decreasing population and the increasing aged peoples. To meet these needs, it is imperative to develop engineering technologies that are safe, comfortable, healthy and convenient. My laboratory is engaged in studying methods to assess our human comfortable conditions, which should be taken into account in developing such technologies. More specifically, my research is focused on objective measurement of people’s feelings and comfort levels by measuring electroencephalogram (EEG) and the autonomic nervous functions.
