Summary I am engaged in developing an energy-saving water purification technique using sunlight and a photocatalyst to inhibit the growth of algae that causes pollution in lakes. Another focus of my research is the development of a low-cost technique to remove heavy metals, endocrine disruptors and other hazardous substances from sludge using microorganisms and oxidants. The objective of the technique is, because part of sewage becomes sludge in the sewage treatment (purification) process, to use the sludge after collecting biogas (energy) from it as a safe ingredient for fertilizer.
