Summary Modern engineering design is heavily dependent upon multidisciplinary numerical simulations built around a CAD system as the repository of design intents, as they can significantly reduce turn-around time, if properly implemented, in product design cycles as well as the reduction of costs stemming from the reduced number of prototypes. Unfortunately the interoperability of CAD and simulation codes is not as efficient as it should be, resulting in a loss of productivity. The primary theme of my research is to remove this obstacle in particular for aerodynamic design applications. The primary focus is on robust design exploration/exploitation based on surrogate modeling and evolutionary algorithms. My interests also span various other topics including hybrid LES-RANS schemes, GPGPU, immersed boundary methods, and software engineering.
