Summary When a computer is visually tracking a target object such as a car or a person, since a sudden change exists in the target motion, the tracking performance deteriorates. To resolve this problem, I propose robust tracking methods based on stochastic analysis and develop new human-computer interfaces. Specifically, I am engaged in developing a camera mouse with the same operability of a mouse cursor by tracking the movement of the mouth and eyes using an inexpensive web camera alone. It enables physically disabled persons to operate a computer easily.
