Summary Aquatic exercise is widely used to maintain and improve health. I have focused my research on the relationship between impact forces upon landing for walking speeds in water and the water depth and their influence on the musculoskeletal system including the drag force and the water pressure, with the aim of establishing safe aquatic exercise therapy not only for healthy people but also for patients with movement dysfunctions. I am currently engaged in research into the development of insect-like robots to understand the influence of gravity on the musculoskeletal and neurological control systems of humans.
