Summary In the ubiquitous society, anyone can be in wireless communication with anyone, anywhere, anytime. There are however many issues to be addressed in order to achieve a ubiquitous network society. One such issue is electromagnetic interference, a disturbance caused by electromagnetic waves generated by home electronic information appliances and wireless devices that adversely affects other electronic devices. To solve this problem, my research is focused on methods to use magnetic wood as a wave absorbing board. The magnetic wood I have developed is a magnetic composite material combining wood and a magnetic substance, which not only has the ability to absorb waves but also has excellent healing power unique to wood, thermal insulation and is easy to process.
