Summary My research efforts are focused on applying engineering technology to address a society with more elderly. Two major projects are (1) development of an automatic health monitoring system and (2) development of care support devices and robots. The objective of the former project is to develop a system for the measurement and management of health conditions that we do not notice in our everyday lives in order to detect any change in health at the earliest possible time and to use the information gathered for early diagnosis of disease. In the latter project, I aim to develop robots to reduce the burden on carers and to provide care receivers with what they need.
