Summary To establish sustainable chemicals production, we have to utilize inexhaustible resources, such as biomass and organic wastes. Also, the technology for such transformations should be safe and easy. Utilization of water and carbon dioxide has received considerable attention as "Green acid solvent" because of their low cost and safe (non-toxic and non-flammable) properties. In my laboratory, we study valuable chemicals production from biomass and waste using supported metal catalysts in high-temperature liquid water and/or high-pressure carbon dioxide including supercritical conditions in conjunction with companies, national institute, and foreign countries.
