Summary Organic LED televisions, which are thinner and lighter and provide higher resolution than conventional televisions are attracting attention. These features of organic LEDs are provided by organic semiconductor materials. As organic semiconductors have another feature—flexibility (bendability)—a bendable television may become available in the near future. In our laboratory, with our focus on various characteristics of organic semiconductors, we are conducting research to produce thin film transistors and improve their performance. Thin films are made using solutions and by a vacuum process. It is expected that they can be applied to manufacturing devices by regulating the growth process of an organic single crystal.
